PINNSTOCK 2010: Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride
ATTENTION: The Picnic has been MOVED. It is no longer at Cherokee Park. Instead, meet the group near Kelly's Landing, right next to the boats. There is a separate private event happening under the covered picnic area, so make sure you're not there. Look for a Pinnstock sign.

Saturday, September 11 1:30 p.m. - 3:30: (all-ages potluck picnic) 3:30: Boat Boarding (21+) 4 - 7: Boat Cruise / Silent Auction / Live Music

Welcome back to Pinnstock! This year we've got a venue like never before: the historic Anson Northrup Riverboat on the Mississippi River.
This year we're doing a silent auction on the boat to raise money for the Perpich Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that supports and enriches the quality of arts education throughout the State of Minnesota and has a strong partnership with the Perpich Center for Arts Education (PCAE) and its public Arts High School in Golden Valley.
As always, we do this in honor and in memory of Marcus Lendway, a promising young musician and writer who died suddenly in 2007 from an aneurysm in his spleen. I know Marcus was an advocate for arts education in the public schools, and we all take pride in helping raise money for this fantastic organization in his name. |

Lineup: |
 |
Eyedea - What can we say about this guy that hasn't already been said? He's been an integral part of the Pinnstock experience since the first installation in 2007 when his improv-based jazz/jam band Face Candy took over the stage and melted faces of all ages. This year he'll be commanding a solo set with DJ Swee2th backing him up on the turntables. Will it be all off-the-cuff freestyles? Will he play some of his solo Oliver Hart material? Or will he premiere some new stuff we haven't even heard yet? Only time will tell. |
 |
I.L.I.C.I.T. - with a hardcore urban political rap style, an East-Coast lyrical presence and Midwest influence, I.L.I.C.I.T. blends a unique style with raw and controversial insight, leaving his audience full from a crucially intense musical feast. I.L.I.C.I.T. went with SAB The Artist (Musab/Beyond) on the Hieroglyphic's "FreshlyDippedTour" in 2008. The tour included over 45 cities in the continental U.S. and Canada. His new album, "Who's Ill?", just dropped in early July and features productions by AKA Hot Karl and Tim Cooper (Evil Science). |
 |
Kristoff Krane - a long-standing Pinnstock favorite, Kristoff will be showing off material from his two new releases, "Picking Flowers Next to Roadkill" and "Hunting for Father," as well as the "classics" we've come to love. |
 |
Carnage - Seriously? You need a description? How about in his own words: "Immorally hand-woven catastrophe tapestry orally attached to beats." This guy is one of the area's most respected and talked about beat boxers, in addition to having some of the tighest and jaw-dropping rhyme schemes in the land. A Pinnstock classic since 2007, don't be surprised if this guy tries to steal the show... and succeeds with flying colors. |
 |
Know Breaks - Depending on whom you ask, or when you ask them, Know Breaks might be defined as a number of things. On their debut album or at a live performance you could hear anything ranging from Hip-Hop and Rock & Roll, to R&B and Soul. With influences ranging from the Roots and Big L, to Jimi Hendrix and the Who, Know Breaks has created a truly unique style of cross-genre, boundary shattering music that is sure to catch the attention of any listener. |
 |
Maybe Saints - hard rock and blues stylings from the Great North (Brainerd, actually), featuring Arts High alum Spike Hofstrand. |
Schedule of Events:

1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Potluck Picnic in the Park! |
We will be having a potluck picnic in the park adjacent to the Padelford River Boats. Look for our group; there should be a Pinnstock sign displayed nearby. The covered picnic area is reserved for another private event, so do not go to that!
Please bring something to share, or a $5 donation! There will not be food on the riverboat, so make sure to eat enough to keep you full for the duration of the 3-hour cruise. Make sure to bring a cooler to house your leftovers in your car, as you will NOT be able to bring outside food or drink on the boat.

Pinnstock on the Riverboat! (boarding at 3:30) |
We'll be boarding at 3:30 and taking off at 4 p.m. sharp, so be ready! There will be 6 live musical acts from diverse backgrounds. The entire lineup will be announced as soon as it is confirmed.
During this time we will also be doing a silent auction, the proceeds of which will benefit the Perpich Foundation, a non-profit focused on promoting and expanding arts education in public schools. Please click over to their website to read about the great things they to increase the quality of arts education for kids across the country.

Afterparty at Roe's House |
The afterparty! Located centrally in Oakdale at Roe's house. If you don't know where that is, make sure to get a flyer from Roe when you're on the boat.
We'll be grilling, eating leftovers and having more live music all night, so come hungry. Unruly, drunken, violent, or otherwise inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Security will be in full effect ready to kick your ass to the curb if you get out of hand. |
